Complicated homecoming...

It had been years since Alastor had last seen this town, bustling with humans and reeking of demons. It was almost comforting...if not for the fact that he knew his master was here. The master he'd abandoned without a word, who would be fully justified in striking him down for his insubordination. But it wasn't in Alastor's nature to run. He'd had his taste of freedom, now it was time to face the consequences. If he was lucky, maybe he could come out on top this time and be truly free.

But that would be once he entered Devil May Cry, something he would wait until daytime for. He didn't want to catch his master just returning from a demon hunt and ready to shoot anything that had fangs and claws. So in the darkness of the desert night, he stood atop a building across from the Devil Hunter's shop. His senses were attuned for any hint of magic approaching him, but he might not register an ordinary human right away.

[She just laughs and rolls back toward him to pull his hand from his face.]

I don't think the Greeks really cared what you could and couldn't do. And considering the myths can you really blame me for asking?

Come on, do you really think I'm the kind of guy who'd trick my way into someone's bed or leave some poor human to take care of a halfbreed kid on her own?

No I don't. If you were I would have kicked you out by now. Possibly with a few bullet holes to show for it.

Then that right there should tell you the myths are bogus. I won't say I didn't flirt, but...would you believe this is actually the closest I've ever been with a human?

[patricided]

If you tried to say you didn't flirt I was going to laugh you right out of my apartment.

[she tilts her head thoughtful a moment]

I'm actually less of a flirt now than I was in my first few centuries. But no, I'm not kidding. I'm sure I could've had the chance...heck, it would've been easy, as the local sky god. But none of those people knew what I really am. It would've been building a relationship on a lie.

[patricided]

I find that somewhat hard to believe. You're sort of incorrigible now.

*Her second comment gets a blush out of him.*

I have honor. I hate using lies and misinformation to get my way.

Never said you didn't. Well not since getting to know you. [At least she could admit it.]

But having some standards of behavior does not make me soft.

You invited me to join you in the bathtub after knowing me all of a month. I'm failing to see the class here.

[she just grins.]

That was a joke, eesh. I wasn't even considering honestly asking you out back then.

And you're just saying that because you've been cuddling with me since last night.

It definitely plays part in that statement.

The invitation. I was just trying to get you all flustered.

Of course, by now I hope I shouldn't even have to say that I really do like sharing a small space with you.

[patricided]

Yeah well it worked.

Guess not. Though a queen-sized bed isn't exactly a small space compared to say a couch.

Not like I've never spent the night on the couch with you, now is it? Though I gotta say, it's a lot more comfortable sleeping in an actual bed. Not that you see me taking advantage of the extra space, right?

*In fact, he's going to scoot a bit closer again so he can put an arm around her.*

Shut up that wasn't the point.

[She shifts a little to accommodate him and fits herself against him.]

If I fall asleep again I'm holding you responsible for an entire day going down the drain.

Hmm...

*He looks a bit thoughtful as his tail drapes over her waist, wrapping around her like an extra arm.*

Well. We could do something to make sure you stay awake.

[patricided]

[She looks up at him curious and a little amused.]

Such as?

*Well, that's a better reaction than he was expecting. He lets his hand slide up into her hair now.*

I guess that depends on what you're in the mood for.

[patricided]

[She's in a good mood, she can let him get away with one innuendo. Humming a little whem his hand returns to her hair.]

I don't know, suggestions?

Well, I dunno about you, but I don't really feel like getting out of bed just yet. Might not wanna go back to sleep, but I'm enjoying myself here.

*He tilts his head a bit closer, so that his horns are just brushing her bangs.*

[patricided]

[Well he does have a point she is pretty damn comfy as is. And while it would make sense to get up and do something with the rest of the day, it seems pretty boring too.

There's a long moment where Lady worries her lower lip between her teeth. She can guess what he's hoping she'll do next. It's just a matter of deciding if she wants to; not like they haven't been dancing around it for a while now.]

Why do I get the feeling you've done this before?

[Taking a quick breath and saying silent prayer that the choice doesn't come back to bite her in the ass, she leans forward to press her lips to his in a very quick kiss.]

*He returns the kiss as well as he can in that brief moment. His eyes literally brighten, glowing cheerfully as his tail pulls closer to her back.*

I tried a few relationships when I was younger. Never worked out, since I was after different things from any of the demons I got involved with, but you learn how to woo a person even if it's never a good match.

Though, it's never been quite like this.

*And that's when he leans forward to give her a kiss of his own, gentle and light. He's testing the waters, seeing if she's willing to let it linger.*

[It wasn't meant to be returned really, just a quick peck of sorts before she settled back into her respective corner though she's a little surprised he even tried to.

She wants to ask what he means 'it's never been quite like this', but she doesn't get the chance. At first she's very still, nervous at first, she thought the quick peck would be the end of it. It takes a few moments but she relaxes little by little as she gets used to the persistent contact of his mouth on hers.

She's hesitant when she responds, not from lack of experience so much as not having kissed someone she actually liked before. and then she's pulling back.]
