Complicated homecoming...

It had been years since Alastor had last seen this town, bustling with humans and reeking of demons. It was almost comforting...if not for the fact that he knew his master was here. The master he'd abandoned without a word, who would be fully justified in striking him down for his insubordination. But it wasn't in Alastor's nature to run. He'd had his taste of freedom, now it was time to face the consequences. If he was lucky, maybe he could come out on top this time and be truly free.

But that would be once he entered Devil May Cry, something he would wait until daytime for. He didn't want to catch his master just returning from a demon hunt and ready to shoot anything that had fangs and claws. So in the darkness of the desert night, he stood atop a building across from the Devil Hunter's shop. His senses were attuned for any hint of magic approaching him, but he might not register an ordinary human right away.

*That gets a grin as he stands up and makes his way over to the coffee pot. Surely his swishing tail isn't distracting, right?*

*Congratulations, Lady, you've made him jump! He even whips around with his claws out in reflex, but he manages to draw them back in before his hand hits her head.*

[Ow. She rubs her cheek a bit. Okay lesson learned about tail grabbing. She's still going to play it off as a giant joke.]

[She's not grinning behind the coffee mug in her hand now nope. Nor is she unaware of what she just said.]

Only the fact that you're practically inviting a comment that I'm pretty sure would make you pull the plug on this conversation in less than a second.

Look, can you blame me? You keep going places and then punishing me for following. Gets a bit old.

[She chews her lip a moment.]

Sorry. Do you want to just sit down and finish breakfast without talking?

Doesn't have to be without talking, just don't make any comments you're not okay with me following up on, alright? It's not easy keeping my thoughts clean when you start making suggestive comments like that.

*So not easy that he didn't actually manage it, but she doesn't need to know that as long as he kept all the dirty thoughts to himself, right?*

[Except she doesn't know what else to talk about now as she pokes at what's left of her pancakes.]

*He's not exactly sure what to say, either, so he'll just finish getting his coffee. At this point, he's really just relieved she didn't lock up at the admission that he has to work at keeping his side of things from leaning too risque...*

[One might want to argue that point give how she isn't talking or eating now. Mostly she's just pushing the cut up bits of her food around the plate.]

*He sighs as he sits down and runs his hand through his hair.*

[She snorts. Her expectations for innocent interest are pretty low here. To the point that they're practically non-existent.]

I'm not bothered by that exactly. [More she doesn't know what to do with that information.]

It's not like that's something I can just turn off. Even if I changed to a neuter form, it wouldn't affect how I think.
