Complicated homecoming...
It had been years since Alastor had last seen this town, bustling with humans and reeking of demons. It was almost comforting...if not for the fact that he knew his master was here. The master he'd abandoned without a word, who would be fully justified in striking him down for his insubordination. But it wasn't in Alastor's nature to run. He'd had his taste of freedom, now it was time to face the consequences. If he was lucky, maybe he could come out on top this time and be truly free.
But that would be once he entered Devil May Cry, something he would wait until daytime for. He didn't want to catch his master just returning from a demon hunt and ready to shoot anything that had fangs and claws. So in the darkness of the desert night, he stood atop a building across from the Devil Hunter's shop. His senses were attuned for any hint of magic approaching him, but he might not register an ordinary human right away.

[It comes out a mutter. She'd have to get up eventally, but the dimming brightness was nice and for just a moment she htought she might be able to go back to sleep. Of course her body wasn't in a cooperating mood as a few minutes later she's shifting away and out of bed entirely use the bahtroom.]

*He'll let her go back to trying to sleep, but he isn't surprised when she has to get up for the bathroom a short while later.
By the time she finishes, she'll be stepping out to the smell of brewing coffee and cooking pancakes with an undertone of baked fruit. Looking toward the source of the smell will find Alastor standing over the stove, poking at a half cooked cinnamon apple pancake with a spatula.*

We should really get you normal clothes. The spandex is a little much.
[Never mind that it showed off his butt really well. Please ignore her as she gets herself a coffee cup and a bottle of peppermint mocha creamer from the fridge to make herself a cup.]
no subject
I'll manage a shopping trip at some po-er.
*And that's when he looks at her and sees what she's wearing. Or rather, not wearing. As nice as the view is, he's going to quickly turn back to his cooking before she can yell at him for staring.*
You know, when I have a day when I'm not busy babysitting either Joe or Dante.
no subject
Well if he was going to ignore it she would do since he didn't say or do anything to comment on her lack of dress.]
You don't have to babysit Dante. He's perfectly content as long as there's plenty of pizza and alcohol to distract him.
no subject
*He shrugs. Still not turning around, and in fact pointedly avoiding looking at her even though he's just waiting for the pancake to finish cooking.*
Part of being the only permanent resident of Devil May Cry that has any sort of sense, I guess.
no subject
[She sighs and pushes away from the counter.]
I'm gonna go get dressed. Try not burn the last of the pancakes, they smell fantastic.
no subject
I'm not gonna burn 'em just because you've been here being distracting.

[Anyway she'll be going, she's pretty much exhausted her excuse for putting it off to start with. Coffee in hand she heads back to her room to change into a pair of loose short shorts and a tank top and the appropriate undergarments, before returning a half-finished cup of coffee in her hand.]
You didn't have to make breakfast you know.
no subject
When she gets back, he's just putting the last of the pancakes on a plate to serve.*
I was hungry and I figured you would be too, so...might as well see what I could put together so you wouldn't have to cook with a hangover.
no subject
It's appreciated.
[She's just going to help herself to those fabulous smelling pancakes.]
no subject
*He sits down opposite her and grabs a pancake for himself.*
no subject
...I guess I deserved that.
no subject
What do-oh. No, it's not that. I think we kinda put that behind us when we shared takeout over a movie.
I was just a little worried you'd be feeling sick after last night and not up to a full meal.
no subject
[She nods and continues to eat after a moment. She's slow about it on the chance that her stomach isn't up to more than coffee after all. She isn't exactly unaware of what the headache she woke up with and the empty spaces in her memory mixed with fuzz mean.]
How bad was I?
[She sounds a mix of concerned and apologetic, not quite meeting his eyes while she twirls her fork.]
no subject
*Is he turning a bit violet? Yes, yes he is. And seems very interested in his own food.*
Well, has anyone ever told you you're a very affectionate drunk?
no subject
[The fork stills, and she drops her chin into her other hand.]
You would be the first, and I'm not sure how to feel about that.
no subject
*He prods at his pancakes a bit and clears his throat.*
You, uh...weren't exactly subtle with it, either. You even, um...
*He really should tell her, but give him a second. He's blushing even more now.*
no subject
[Alastor you're confusing her. And that blush is not helping anything at all. It's kind of scaring her.]
I even ...?
no subject
*Well...no point drawing it out.*
You tried to kiss me a couple times. You actually caught me off guard with it the first time so I, um. Well, I figured you wouldn't want me to let it last, even if I didn't react in time to keep you from doing it in the first place.
no subject
[She'd just put another piece of pancake in her mouth too when he spits it out and she coughs, the piece lodging awkwardly in the back of her throat a moment before coming loose. Sipping at her coffee she finishes chewing and swallows.]
I kissed you? ...Was there tongue?
no subject
*He wanted to, but he didn't.*
Didn't want to go along with something you were just doing because you'd had too much to drink, you know?
no subject
[Actually she doesn't really know what that was. And the conflict over that rolls off her.]
Yeah that would suck.
