Complicated homecoming...
It had been years since Alastor had last seen this town, bustling with humans and reeking of demons. It was almost comforting...if not for the fact that he knew his master was here. The master he'd abandoned without a word, who would be fully justified in striking him down for his insubordination. But it wasn't in Alastor's nature to run. He'd had his taste of freedom, now it was time to face the consequences. If he was lucky, maybe he could come out on top this time and be truly free.
But that would be once he entered Devil May Cry, something he would wait until daytime for. He didn't want to catch his master just returning from a demon hunt and ready to shoot anything that had fangs and claws. So in the darkness of the desert night, he stood atop a building across from the Devil Hunter's shop. His senses were attuned for any hint of magic approaching him, but he might not register an ordinary human right away.

Might as well get this particulars out of the way. Dante would be out of town at least another few days for his latest client. A client that should afford a good payout if Dante didn't somehow manage to screw things up.
"There are better ways of getting Dante's attention than staring at his shop."
no subject
"Maybe I'm not trying to get his attention. Seems kind of dumb to hope he'll notice me here when he's not even home."
no subject
"If you knew that, then the point of watching the shop would be?"
no subject
"Isn't it obvious? Waiting for him to get back. Easier than chasing him down who-knows-where."
no subject
"Better ways of waiting for him to come back than camping out up here." She's going to ignore the question though.

He put his hands on his hips with a sigh and an irritated twitch of his tail. He really wasn't looking forward to talking to his master, but waiting wouldn't make it any easier. Though he was starting to get annoyed by the way she was looking at him.
"And what's that look for?"
no subject
"I don't usually get the drop on a demon so easily."
no subject
He crossed his arms with a huff. Everything about him just radiated annoyance.
"You'd be easy to surprise too if you were about to go talk to your boss after I'm not even sure how long MIA."
no subject
No need to get annoyed, she can understand not looking forward to dealing with Dante. There are days she doesn't even want to do that.
"Okay let's clear this up first, who are you?" Because all this talk about masters and being MIA was beginning to get just a little bit on her nerves. Which was truly a special sort of talent if managed in the first ten minutes of meeting her.

He shook his head, putting one hand on his hip. Even though his eyes were covered, he managed to give off the impression of rolling them.
"I'm Alastor, one of Dante's Devil Arms."
no subject
"Didn't think his Devil Arms could still take a human form?"
no subject
Though he didn't want to imagine if all of them could. Everyone was much happier with Beowulf trapped in weapon form.
no subject
"Okay..."
no subject
He gave a halfhearted, somewhat disappointed seeming shrug.
"That's the way things go sometimes."
no subject
"He won't be back for a couple more days."
no subject
He huffed quietly and glanced out over the city. He didn't...really have anywhere else to go. And if he went back to Movieland, he had no way of knowing how much time was passing in the outside world. He'd just have to figure something out while he was waiting...starting with food.
"In that case, you know where a guy could get a bite to eat around here?"
no subject
Please no comments, she knows just how ridiculous that sounds that she has his pizza place on speed dial. Granted most of it has to do with temporarily cutting off his pizza tab, but she had it.
no subject
"No thanks. I want food, not cardboard covered in grease. How about a decent burger place?"
no subject
She half turns pausing just a moment to see if he'd follow as she headed back to the fire escape and then continuing as if she hadn't paused at all.
no subject
There's a flash of light before he follows as he shifts to his human disguise. It's not perfect, he knows, but it should be good enough to keep people from getting uneasy.
"Thanks."

Drama really is a demonic trait.
no subject
"This way."
Out of the alley and into the dim yellow lights of the street as she led the way to the burger place. And she's just going to ignore his wardrobe change since it at least makes him stand out less.
no subject
He gestures the way she pointed with a faint bow. As she leads the way, he follows with his hands in his pockets, black eyes flicking around the street.
"I'd almost forgotten what this city felt like..."
no subject
She shrugs, "It hasn't changed much the last few years." Not that she has a real idea of when he took off, but a large window couldn't hurt right?
