Complicated homecoming...

It had been years since Alastor had last seen this town, bustling with humans and reeking of demons. It was almost comforting...if not for the fact that he knew his master was here. The master he'd abandoned without a word, who would be fully justified in striking him down for his insubordination. But it wasn't in Alastor's nature to run. He'd had his taste of freedom, now it was time to face the consequences. If he was lucky, maybe he could come out on top this time and be truly free.

But that would be once he entered Devil May Cry, something he would wait until daytime for. He didn't want to catch his master just returning from a demon hunt and ready to shoot anything that had fangs and claws. So in the darkness of the desert night, he stood atop a building across from the Devil Hunter's shop. His senses were attuned for any hint of magic approaching him, but he might not register an ordinary human right away.

"Yeah, guess you've got other shit to do, huh?"

And he has a lot to think about. This...is going to be an interesting few days."

"Not really. But you're looking a little broody around the edges so..."

[hellspawnedhero]

"Just got a lot on my mind, that's all. Call it an enlightening conversation."

[patricided]

She nods. Yeah it was something. "It wasn't our normal conversational fair no." Shifts and turns. Now would be a good time to either ask her to stay awhile or say goodbye Dante.

"Doesn't mean you've gotta go, thought."

He shifts the pizza box around on the corner of his desk, just to have something to fidget with.

"If you wanna stick around awhile, I'm not exactly gonna complain."

[patricided]

"Probably not, but you're generally about five minutes from trying to pitch me out the door."

And well if he's going to move the pizza box she's going to see if there's anything left inside. She's sort of hungry and his weird pizza tastes will do in a pinch. Wandering around the desk she pops the lid and picks up the sole remaining slice left and leans her hip against the desk as she takes a bite.

"Thanks for the slice."

"Hey!"

He crosses his arms and leans back in the chair with a huff.

"How come you always decide you want pizza when I've only got one slice left?"

[patricided]

"Because then there's a lack of temptation to eat the whole pizza and ruin my figure~"

[hellspawnedhero]

He raises an eyebrow and gives her a look over.

"Pretty sure it'd take a lot more than one little pizza binge to ruin that."

[patricided]

She just raises an eyebrow over the slice of pizza as she takes another bite.

"You never know. I'm not getting any younger, some of us actually have to worry about a slowing metabolism."

[hellspawnedhero]

"Awww, c'mon, the way you move around? Bet you'd work it off without even trying."

[patricided]

"Do you even know how many calories is in this stuff?"

[hellspawnedhero]

Pause. Shrug.

"Dunno, but I know you get a hell of a lot of exercise."

[patricided]

"You're just dying for me to hit you aren't you?"

[hellspawnedhero]

"Hey, c'mon, it's a complement! I like an active woman."

[patricided]

Do you hears crickets chirping? She does.

[hellspawnedhero]

After a pause, the teasing grin fades. If she's just now realizing he was serious about liking her, maybe...

"Y'know I mean it, don't ya?"

[patricided]

She's not just realizing it, she's just fine with processing verbal information thanks. Really getting used to the idea is an entirely different idea.

"What is it with men and thinking any sort of admission of interest means we hop right into bed."

He huffs and folds his arms.

"I was hoping I'd at least get to flirt without you getting pissed off at me."

[patricided]

"You need lessons in flirting. I'm not some floozy you're picking up in a bar."

[hellspawnedhero]

He holds his hands up in a gesture of surrender.

"Alright, alright. How 'bout we try this a different way, then? Glad I'm getting a chance to spend time with you outside of work."

[patricided]

That takes some of the wind out of her annoyance. She doesn't say anything at first instead taking another bite off the slice of pizza.

She shrugs. It isn't bad now that she's actually doing it. And he isn't exactly complaining either. "Alot easier to do when you don't sound like my being here is a burden."

"A lot easier not to complain when you're not just here to talk about work or money."

[patricided]

"I guess we both have things to work on okay."

[hellspawnedhero]

"Yeah..."

He holds one arm out in an offer of a hug.

"But you're someone that's worth the effort."
