He takes a large spoonful of ice cream and tilts his head at her as he watches her, leaving the spoon in his mouth while the food melts. He hadn't expected that. Although he was glad to be able to keep his seat, he wasn't eager to find a new one where he would be able to ignore the rest of the restaurant.
When he finally does take the spoon out of his mouth, he sticks it back in the ice cream but doesn't pull another scoop out just yet.
